The contractor/supervisor course consists of five days of training. Persons seeking to be licensed as an asbestos abatement contractor, asbestos abatement supervisor, project manager, or accredited as an asbestos abatement contractor or supervisor, need to successfully complete the contractor/supervisor training course. Training includes a written examination of 100 multiple-choice questions. A score of at least 70% correct on the written exam is needed to successfully complete the course. The course addresses: asbestos background and health effects, personal protective equipment, state-of-the-art work practices, personal hygiene, other safety hazards, medical monitoring, relevant state, federal and local regulations, respiratory protection, hands-on training, insurance and liability, record keeping, supervisory techniques, contract specifications, course review and manual.
