COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 5 day course (40-hour) meets the Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements for Lead-Related Construction Supervisor/Project Monitor training. Students learn lead abatement practices and how to select the proper abatement action under different conditions. Careful discussion of the HUD guidelines as well as California Title 17 and Title 8 CCR 1532.1 serve as background for addressing the uses of lead, health effects of lead exposure, personal protective equipment, and work practices. The course includes hands-on training as well as a final exam. Attendance during all five days and a passing grade of 70 % or better on the final exam gives students access to the CDPH completion form. In order to become certified as Lead Supervisors or Lead Project Monitors students must pass a state exam offered through the CDPH.
